SONG OF THE DALE

A MIDI SEQUENCE IN THREE PARTS

Song Of The Dale was an attempt to express the traditional music of the Yorkshire Dales as an orchestrated MIDI sequence. It is written in three parts, roughly representing the passage of a day.Its dominant theme is the Song of Upper Wharfedale. The third part, 'Gala Day' must be the first ever orchestrated piece to contain a piano accordion solo!

SONG OF THE DALE is a MIDI sequence. It is not Audio. It consists of code that is played by your soundcard. (a bit like a pianola playing a roll). Like a pianola, MIDI sound will inevitably vary from one computer to another. Tempo, mix and balance will all be subject to your soundcard. The final mixdown version can be supplied on CD if desired.
