Despite rumours to the contrary, plans for Mytholmroyds' new Youth Centre are well underway and everything is presently going to plan. The site, the former travel agents premises on the end of Caldene Avenue) has been secured, planning permission has been obtained and now we are tryinging to raise funding for the actual building work.
The plans have now been drawn up and approved. The centre will be a two storey building with a timber clad upper storey and rounded windows. As you can see from the picture, the odd shape of the site, along with its proximity to the River Calder has prompted a design reminiscent of a giant boat.
PLEASE NOTE: This building is intended to be used solely as a youth club, and the continuing disappearances of local cats, dogs,ferrets, rabbits and various other animals have no bearing whatsoever on MYAGs plans for this site!
